CASE STUDY

The Curated Plate is the premier culinary festival of the Sunshine Coast in beautiful Queensland, Australia. The 10 day homegrown festival is a delicious celebration of the regions local produce, producers and chefs wowing locals and visitors alike through memorable experiences.

In 2023, The Curated Plate program was bursting with over 100 events held by 50+ Industry Partners showcasing more than 400 local businesses and producers.  

The event was supported by Tourism and Events Queensland, Sunshine Coast Council, Visit Sunshine Coast and is attended by over 9,700 guests.

Challenge​

To reintroduce the appetite of The Curated Plate via The Curated (side) Plate in 2022, which offered a ‘small serving’ of events and focused on building from the ground up with the intention of bringing the event back in 2023 bigger and tastier than ever.

To engage Industry Partners and attendees in 2022 through The Curated (side) Plate and then further develop the relationships in 2023.

Solution

We developed a festival of food celebrating all things Sunshine Coast through a brimming program that included collaborations between local producers, suppliers and businesses who came together to tell their stories not only through food but experiences. 

We invested in four signature events that heroed our program, engaged with well known local chefs and special guests and drove awareness through; social, video, and PR. A successful 10 day event with over 9,700 tickets sold. Integration of TEQ and VSC destination content encouraging attendees to extend their stay and enjoy Sunshine Coast.
